.. with regards to royalty payments, and it may endanger the making of the Hobbit. The real winners in all of this are the lawyers. Everyone else loses. You want to be rich, you become a media lawyer. You don't write, direct, or produce films or write stories. You become a laywer. Or an agent, possibly (or agent with a good lawyer).
This sort of thing saddens me all because of rights, royalties, agents and lawyers are getting in the way of producing a potentially great entetaining film for all to enjoy. I hate it when it all turns bitter like this. One can't seem to produce fantasy films these days without some kind of rights issue or spat going on somewhere. Sigh.
